Messy Elle

Stars without make-up, without retouch. Maybe it's just me that after too much shity-reality-fashion-tv shows I now think too much into why would they do it, this is what I thought:
a)Someone screwed up badly and it was too late to do it again, so this is the way to sell it
b)One of the girls was soo ugly that day that not even make up would fix it, so the other two had to go without.
c)The make-up artist was too hang over to even show at the photoshoot and they couldn't find anyone..
d) This is actually for real.

There's something about these covers that just makes me not like them. I'm not sure if it is the actual "no-make-up" look or the background, or the styling.. It just looks messy to me..

Sorry.

Stella-Frigging-McCartney

And once again, she did it.

March 9th, 2009. 8 am. Wake up. I had slept 2 hours, hwk. Make up and heels and get on the metro. We got to 3 rue Dupetits Thouars and it was busting with people. Around us we saw, Salma Hayek, Jefferson Hack, Anna Wintour, Patrick Demarchelier, Mario Testino... and those are just a few names. We get in and the show begins. It was fabulous, fierce.
Thank you.

A Glamorous Return To Childhood

Ok, I never thought I'd say this, but Barbie's 50th Anniversary show in the prestigious Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week kicked ass.
Who would've thought that those plastic blondies that my mum used to buy me in the store under my house would turn into this!? thank god they lost the fake organza dress that they used to wear, however the shoes? Louboutin went a bit too Barbie.Barbie was born Barbara Millicent Roberts on March 9, 1959 in Willows, Wisonsin. She is one of the top selling dolls in the world. She has travelled and worked more than a 100 jobs, however, she loves beeing a fashion hoe the most, (she told me last night, cinfidentially, of course) Everyone's played with Barbies at one point in their lives and if they haven't they should probably question the kind of childhood they had. And in order to make her 50th party more interesting she agreed with 51 designers, including Vera Wang, Alexander Wang , Marchesa, Calvin Klein, Diane Von Fustenberg, etc to dress her up for a real-size fashion show.

Lets Arad For A Second

Lucky me, living in Paris, I get to go to all these amazing exhibitions all over the city, this month in the Centre Pompidou there's an exhibition on Ron Arad.
Ron Arad is an idustrial designer, artist and architect. In the exhibition showing now in the Pompidou, you can see a collection of chairs, mainly, and other obejects like lamps and maquetes of some of his architectural projects. His use of metal to create flowing designs is flawless, it seems as if the pieces were as light as bubbles about to rise up in the air. This contrast with his earlier work, where he used plastic especially, and even though his designs are still similar (big and curved objects) by using metal his managed to stylize and add more elegance to his pieces.

These are only some of the pieces you could find in the exhibition. It's absolutely fabulous, if you are in Paris any time soon, it's a MUST.

Watch Out For: Passion Pit

They are a new group from Cambridge, Massachusers, and whose first album, Chunk of Change, threatens to become the new HIT in all those clubs that are worth going to, and the beggining of what I belienve will be an innovative and interesting career. In this album, Michael, Ian, Ayad, Jeff and Nate include 80's sounds yet they mix them with new rave sounds in a way that just makes you want to stay home with their album and spend an evening of "tired-dancing" (those who know me will understand what it means). They are my latest obsession, therefore, they should be yours too. Listen to sleepyhead especially. Simply spectacular.

T-Shirt Insanity

Sorry I've been a little out, but vacations are always hectic!
For the past 5 or 6 years there has been a complete T-shirt Revolution. T-Shirts have always been there, starting in the 50s where they were only used as underwear, yet gorgeous Marlon Brando proved everyone that it could be worn outside.

Since then, T-Shirts have grown to be a way of expressionism, a way of publicity or propaganda of political statements, believes, tastes, etc
I, personally, have entered a Tshirt Spiral, i buy one and need another... This is a non stopping madness!
These are some i'm looking into now, and some I already have!
