Chanel

I always think it's funny to look back to what ads used to be in the 80's and 90's. Let's take Chanel as an example:

Chanel-Egoïste 1990

Chanel- No.5 2009

Ok, I know you are going to say that the ads can't be compared because one is for a perfume for men and the other is for women, and it's not any other perfume, it's Chanel no.5. However, what I want to say is, Chanel has become (if possible) even classier. Words are no longer needed to convey a feeling; technology now allows us to be able to put a yellow-ish filter to make it seem warmer, a bluer one to show desperation and anxiety and finish with a red one to portray L-O-V-E.

Genious.

Wizard Smoke

Wizard Smoke from Salazar on Vimeo.

I find this video incredibly inspiring. I love the camera work, the colours, the idea, I love EVERYTHING in this video.
It was done by a studio called SALAZAR, founded in 2008
Jesse Savath, Bienviendo Cruz, Jeff Petry, and Nathan Drillot. The story behind the studio is kind of funny, see they were all each other's competition and decided, "what the heck? we might as well join together and create a larger and better studio" and SALAZAR is the result. Within their works, you might recognise the video for Metronomy's "Heart beat rapid"

You're in for a treat!

Iceland '09

I went to Iceland back in October, so yes, this is a bit late. Anyway, if you haven't been there yet I truly recomend that you go, it is one of the most amazing places I have ever been to! Not only for the landscapes but also for the people.
Brynja, was the best guide, night and day! Thanks sooo much!
Here are a few shots and a video. (the quality of the video is not the best, sorry but it's youtube's fault, it is perfectly fine in my laptop!)

be sure to visit Kron Kron when you're there for some quality Icelandic fashion. It's a must!

Victoria's Secret 2009 Fashion Show

I don't know how you feel about this year's show, but as I was watching all I could think of is how much better it used to be. Don't get me wrong, they still put on a hell of a show but something went wrong.

The first VS show I ever saw was the 2005 one (watch the first part:)

Here is the link to the VS Fashion Show 2009

I'm not complaining about the clothes (even though I'm not a big fan) I'm jsut saying that this wasn't a fashion show; it was definitely a SHOW but the word fashion, in my opinion, should be taken away from the title. Here is why:

a)Black Eyed Peas performed.
b)People were cheering ALL the time instead of sitting down and paying attention. In a fashion show you should be a little bit quieter.
c)Models were throwing kisses and shaking hands. I mean, it was cool when Tyra did it but do you all have to copy her?? Seriously?
d) BLACK EYED PEAS PERFORMED

W Magazine: United Artists

W magazine's bookings editor, Rena Lazaros, narrates this video about W magazine's new concept to showcase the three main Armani collections: Emporio Armani, Armani Privé and Armani Collection. The main idea is to get artists instead of models to show the Armani collections. Some of the artists are Sophie Auster, Hugh Dancy, Peter Sarsgaard and Susie Bick. It's a great video for a great idea.

It's always great to see how amazing photographers like Inez and Vinoodh direct the shoot.
